The Trans-Tasman Occulation Alliance is pleased to announce that the Fifteenth Trans-Tasman Symposium on Occultations (TTSO15) will be held in September 2021. As a result of the ongoing challenges of COVID-19, TTSO15 will be a strictly online event using Google Zoom with three short sessions spread across three Saturday afternoons (Au/NZ times).

TTSO15 will feature reviews of recent occultation activity and results, data reduction methods and techniques, updated information on equipment, and sessions devoted to the practical needs of both new and more advanced observers. The meeting will be attended by occultation observers throughout Australia and New Zealand, and we hope to welcome the attendance and participation of observers from further afield.

Attendance at TTSO15 will use Google Zoom. The Trans-Tasman Occultation Alliance will not be charging a fee for attendees. However, in order to control access to the event, proposing attendees will be required to register with the Trans-Tasman Occultation Alliance in order to receive access links and passwords. Email your intentions to the TTOA Director.

Occurec and Tangra

Some time ago Hristo made the source code of OccuRec and Tangra publically available, in the hope that programmers in the occultation community will contribute to the further development of them. This talk is about my contributions – to encourage other people to have-a-go and also to avoid some of the pitfalls I encountered along the way.
