OCCULTATION OF TYC 6836-00749-1 BY 9 METIS
2007 JULY 15

A 13.30 second occultation was recorded by John Broughton, using the CCD drift scan technique.

View the updated prediction.

Observers:
1 John Broughton, Reedy Creek, QLD, AU
2 Dave Gault, Hawksbury Heights, NSW,AU
3 Prediction 13 Jun

Metis occultation - 2007 July 15

Discussion:

The circle above is plotted at the expected 210 km diameter of Metis. With only one chord it is not possible to determine whether John was north or south of the central line of the event. However, assuming the updated prediction was approximately correct with a 1 sigma error estimate of about 26 km the scenario above would seems the most probable.

The figures below show the drift-scan image of the occultation together and the data as analysed by John's Scanalyser software.
