Danae occultation - 2009 August 06

Discussion:

The ellipse above is plotted at the same area as a circle of the expected 76 km diameter of Danae. With two chords we have confidence that the path centre is close to Steve's location. There are no previous obseravtions of Danae with multiple chords and no data on the shape from lightcurve data. It is noted that Steve made a previous observation of Danae from the same location with just one chord in 2004.

Missed

Comments: Identification positive. When it was obvious that the critical
time had passed I stopped continual monitoring, and then noticed the
elongation/separation a couple of minutes later. To the naked eye,
despite careful monitoring, there was no drop in brightness.
