Kotelnikov occultation - 2012 July 18

Discussion:

The circle above is plotted at the expected 34 km diameter of Kotelnikov. With no positive chords we cannot say where the actual path was, so the circle has been plotted on the predicted path. A good turn out witha bright star and nicely spaced sites

Missed

Comments: The problem was the edge of the dome was also occulting the scope
(my dome has a dead spot near the zenith due to its clamshell design),
so I could only just see the star.
The resulting signal-to-noise is so low that I could have missed any occultation
(buried in the noise).
[With a mag drop of 8.5 and misses either side I think we are safe
in counting this as an observed miss - jt]
